Ever since childhood, HE considered himself to be more of a girl than a boy. HE’d refer to himself as SHE and wear dresses. HE/ SHE grew up with this dilemma. SHE’s now 30 but the confusion is still there. SHE lives in a village in Maramureș and sings folk music at weddings and in bars. There’s nothing exceptional, except for the fact that he bears a male name in his documents. SHE seems to be fully accepted by the community of her small village. Furthermore, the villagers are happy that Romania is now part of the European Union, and so SHE might also get married some day. SHE tells of her life, of how and who she loved, of romances ended in fists. She recounts of her forced prostitution in Spain and of her returning home more dead than alive. Now SHE bought some farm animals and is spending more time at home.
