News from Polska - Richard. Un trup din furie

Thursday, April 6 2017, 19h30 (conex event)

Concept & performance: Piotr Mateusz Wach

Length: 45 min.

- Romanian subtitles -

A profound analysis of Richard the Third. The starting point for Wach’s creation was Shakespeare’s original play and the spanish dramaturge Angélica Liddell’s play “Richard’s Year”. For Shakespeare, Richard was an invalid tiran and murderer, the archetypal image o evil. For Liddell, he’s a lunatic and a monster, with a shocking discourse combining hypocrisy and complexes. The artist puts together the historical and contemporary text to draw the portrait of a monumental and frightening hero. The two sources are used to create a new creature - mute body, walled in anger.
