"Offering What We Don't Have To Those Who Don't Want It" is a staging of selected aspects of Ania Nowak's two-year long research on love as a political category. The work approaches love as a corporeal and language practice, as well as a fantasy about new formats of intimacy and relating. Thus the piece is not a universal love story but rather a choreography of posing questions on our individual and collective desires. Following Yvonne Rainer’s claim that ‘feelings are facts’, what are the consequences of the knowledges produced by bodies and affects for the choreography our social relationships on and off stage?
Ania Nowak works choreographing bodies, language and situations. She is currently interested in love as a practice of (not) understanding and dance as a visual phenomenon. Her works have been presented at Sophiensaele and AdK in Berlin, Het Veem in Amsterdam, Nowy Teatr in Warsaw and Kulturhuset in Stockholm, a.o. Ania was artist-in-residence at Zamek Culture Centre in Poznan and co-created a mass choreography for the opening ceremony of a sports event in Baku, Azerbaijan. She received the 2017 Emerging Artists Grant from the Berlin Senat and DanceWeb scholarship at Impuls Tanz Festival 2014 in Vienna.
The entry fee for the shows is 35 de lei (full price) or 20 de lei (reduced) can be purchased online from www.kompostor.ro or from the Stere Popescu hall before the show (Mărăşeşti Bld. 80-82).
