COUNTERBODY is a show containing dance, installation and music in which all the elements can be regarded as particles in constant movement, mutable and parallel. According to curator Olivia Nițiș, the show’s starting point have been attempts to deconstruct, destructure and disembody through relativisation processes assumed in the field of dance, but also through a concept that includes multiple layers of decoding. The installation, the text and the original music decompose and recompose the movement spaces, accentuating the constant relationship of body-space transfer.
Simona Deaconescu studied both choreography at the National University of Theatre and Film "I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest and filmmaking at the Media University. In 2013, she founded Tangaj Dance, an independent dance company that produces projects at the intersection between art and science, film and dance, while in 2015 she initiated the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival, the only dance film festival in Romania, whose artistic director she has been until now. In 2016, Simona received a CNDB Award for her contribution to Romanian contemporary dance.
