MOVING DIALOGUE II >> Ana Cătălina Gubandru and Valentina De Piante Niculae join the Bucharest/New York Dance Exchange

The Bucharest/New York Dance Exchange that kicked off in October 2010 in NYC continues this January with the NYC residence of Romanian dancers and choreographers Ana Catalina Gubandru and Valentina De Piante Niculae. The residence will allow the two artists to take part to Movement Research's MELT Intensive, the renowned NYC series of contemporary dance workshops with internationally recognized choreographers, and to explore the NYC dance scene.

MELT Intensives are a series of daily workshops in technique, somatics, improvisation, composition and other areas offered each summer (5 or 6 weeks) and winter (3 weeks). Taught by Movement Research’s internationally recognized faculty as well as acclaimed guest artists, these workshops provide students with the unique opportunity to engage with some of the most highly regarded and innovative artists in the field of dance today.
Moving Dialogue aims to foster engagement and interaction between both emerging and established American and Romanian dance artists. The project focuses on dialogue, networking, artistic process and professional development through studio research and residencies, classes and workshops, group practice sessions, panel discussions, and informal performances. Moving Dialogue will continue during the spring-summer of 2011 in Bucharest.
