Wednesday, November 30th:

02:00 p.m. - 06:00 p.m. – Workshop and Film Screening “UP STAIRS”
Stretching out across three dimensions (artistic, educational and as a research tool), UP STAIRS attempts to discover new theoretical and practical performative ways of reactivation, reinterpretation and repositioning of the individual’s internal architecture in relation to external, material architecture.

UP STAIRS aims at finding new manners of interacting with personal and public spaces and responding to their architectural particularities, by using visual language as a means and a frame for integrating internal and external experiences.

07:30 p.m.  - 08:00 p.m.  – Performance “Quartet for a microphone”
Concept and author: Vava Ştefănescu
Co-authors: Vlaicu Golcea (sound artist), Carmen Coțofană, Farid Fairuz, Mihaela Dancs/Vava Ștefănescu (performers)

“’Quartet for a lavaliere’ is a choreography and sound installation which revolves around several ideas related to confinement: the lack of distance, being the hostages of our own existence, tolerance. Being a real time composition, the sole help and point of reference is provided by the visible and audible situation during the entire 60 minutes of the performance. (Vava Ştefănescu)

By and with: Andreea David and Mihaela Dancs

How do we relate our movement praxis to music? We work with music as if it were a third body, we listen to it, we are contaminated by it, we assume it physically and emotionally, we negotiate and compose by it, building and abandoning relationships, or we let movement flow instinctively through that energetic spell particular to music, in which dance becomes a ritual in trance in which we’re lost in music and concepts dissolve, when consciousness is not to be found and the devil has his hand in it.
