Danse Élargie open the call for projects for 2018 edition
The international biennial competition Danse Élargie has opened a call for projects for the fifth edition of the event, which will take place on June 16 and 17, 2018.
Initiated by Boris Charmatz, director of Musée de la danse, and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, director of Théâtre de la Ville, the Danse Élargie competition is open to artists of all ages and from every field (dance, theatre, visual arts, music, architecture, design etc). They are invited to propose a creation in the spirit of extending our notion about contemporary dance, which has to last a maximum of 10 minutes and involve at least three performers.
The jury is composed of international artists, and for the 2018 edition, 20 finalists will be selected to perform at the Theatre de la Ville in Paris. The jury will then select three winners.
For each edition, the organisers offer the finalists guidance to find support towards covering their travel costs.
The application form and details about the rules are available at http://www.danse-elargie.com/en. The deadline for online applications is December 15, 2017.
